Waking up each morning is such a gift for all of us. Despite the fact of it being a rainy, cloudy or snowy day, we have the choice to bring a dose of happiness out there and what better way to do it than with a incomparable SMILE.

I have the pleasure of watching constantly the gentleman in the picture, he delivers a friendly smile and waves to every single person he gets the chance to see. You cannot miss this, I bet you will end up smiling and waving back to him. He is a perfect example and has an impressive attitude.

One day driving by this gentleman’s usual spot, I was stopped by the set of lights and got the chance to witness a special event. A lady came from behind; he said hi and turned around to help her cross the street. She tapped his shoulder and handed him what seemed like a sandwich. He was happily shocked, thanked her, and did not know whether to continue helping her or place his new snack in his car.

We all come from different pasts and experiences, but you are today what you choose to be. Have you witnessed something similar, or would you like to surprise someone who deserves recognition for their attitude and character toward the world?

I finally had the honor to meet this gentleman. His name is Joe. He loves his job as a crossing guard in Reading, MA, and is a retired police officer. =D

I have the virtue of witnessing how wonderful and powerful a little sign can be that simply asks people “Not to block the walkway”.

The owner of this sign and home is a sweet little lady in her mid 80’s. I have seen her only twice working outside her yard, and she waves to us when we drive down her street.

According to her neighbor across the street, she is really active, works in her yard, and most importantly is a sweet, polite, and well-educated person. Do you like her sign?

One of the coldest days ever, I entered a coffee shop to purchase a hot chocolate and munchkins for Mr. Fireman. My place had a couple of sprinkler pipes frozen, and the fire department assigned a fireman to stand by outside all night just in case something went wrong.

Standing in line, a lady on my right entered the store and smiled at me. She did not realize I was next in line. When the employee called for the next customer, the lady started ordering. She immediately turned around and apologized; I told her, “No worries Ma’am, I don’t care.”

A gentleman behind me watched the moment. I told him that for being patient and not saying anything, he had earned a free coffee on me. He was surprised but accepted. The lady felt bad, yet I reassured her that it was all right.

He ordered his coffee, said thank you, and placed the money for it in the tip mug. See how this domino effect works? We can view every situation in a different way. It depends whether we choose indifference or make a difference. Which side do you choose?

This image represents perfectly the kind of united effort we need in the world. This wonderful place has enough for everyone, and it is difficult to understand why sources are being taken away from human rights.

Greed rules highly in most places of the world. The majority of goods that people seek are completely unnecessary; just take a look around. Let’s work together for a better place where there is enough of everything for everyone. Remember that the best things in life are completely FREE!
